After seven successful years of marriage [we think :-)...], we’re thrilled to announce to the world that our family will be expanding through international adoption! For those of you who know us, the answer is NO, our dog, Mallie isn’t having pups (we took care of that a long time ago), but she IS going to be a BIG SISTER!
WHY?
As for why we’re adopting, look no further than our website. www.HefirstLOVEDus.com is our story. In fact, before we ever thought of having children together, our wedding was encompassed by one verse (and even engraved in both of our wedding rings):
1 John 4:19 "We love because He first loved us."
God loved us first, and as a result, we love each other. Therefore, the only natural response for us is to love others. Going one more step:
Ephesians 1:4-6 paraphrased says, In LOVE, He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, and to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.
As a result, God has stirred our hearts, and called us to adopt our child from Uganda...and WE CANNOT WAIT!!!
